I think Spooner is definitely going to sit when Kelly comes back. Love the spark he brings but can't score and struggles to win face offs consistently. It would be cool to see mark Stuart back in a bruins sweater again and he is definitely the type of dman they look for at the deadline. Wouldn't mind them going for guys like mark fayne and David schlemko either
I think the only thing that's gonna stop him is the decline of his physical abilities. The mental fortitude and drive to rise to the position he is in now from where he started has to be unfaltering. I also think part of his success comes from playing with three other large, intimidating l defensive backs. That being said the shelf life of any elite player in the NFL is not long and time and contract disputes could soon break up the Legion of Boom.
There are some real weird selections for several Olympic squads so far. Forty two year old Petr Nedved is making his Olympic debut for the Czech Republic over Radim Vrbata and Tomas Fleischman. Dan Hamhuis over Brent Seabrook. Brooks Orpik over Keith Yandle. I can't tell if the coaches and GMs are taking a page from Herb Brooks' book or just playing favorites
