MUCH RESPECT FOR WOMEN'S HOCKEY

Not to be sexist or sound like a pig but let's be honest-- women's hockey isn't as exciting to watch as men's hockey. But I would be a fool to say that I didn't enjoy watching every second of the women's gold medal game.

The gold medal game between Canada and USA was a battle for a majority of the game and the speed and skill I saw on both sides didn't surprise me, but it did make me have

Great take. That was one of the best games of the tournament, men or women's. I was pleasantly surprised by the skill level of the US and Canada. Both Kendall Coyne and Marie-Philip Poulin jump off the screen with their skating and puck handling abilities.

Jaroslav Halak, in my opinion, is the biggest obstacle for team USA. We've all seen him stand on his head (playoffs with Montreal) but he's also been very inconsistent at times and this season, in somewhat limited action, he has a BELOW .900 save percentage. If he is not on his game, I think the US and Russia advance from group A.

Team USA has a few guys who can really skate, especially on the blueline, and I think they'll do much better this time around on the bigger sheet.

Wade, my boy since his BU days, Kevin Shattenkirk was born in CT and raised in New York so he kind of counts as a New England guy...
